- UPCOMING MEETINGS …
Mon 6/ 14
7:00 pm … Trustees Meeting
If you would like to attend any meeting from home by phone or over the Internet, please let Pastor Dave know or call Vervadene at the church. - Due to your careful love for your neighbor, the State of Illinois is relaxing COVID restrictions in response to lower numbers. Please pray for wisdom for our leaders and a calm response throughout to the gradual lifting of restrictions.
- On Friday, May 14, 2021, Curtis Brown, Director of Connectional Ministries for the IGRC, issued an Update on Wearing Masks for the Illinois Great Rivers Conference to say:
The U.S. Centers for Disease Control has updated their safety guidance to state, “… fully vaccinated people no longer need to wear a mask or physically distance in any setting.” … This means that fully vaccinated people will not need to wear a face mask or physically distance in most of our churches during worship services, gatherings, and meetings, including while speaking and singing.” Additionally, some fully vaccinated people may wish to continue to wear masks out of an abundance of caution or in solidarity with children and other people who are not able to be vaccinated.
The IGRC recommends that churches should avoid creating special events, gatherings, or worship experiences only available to those who are already fully vaccinated. Our ministries are meant for all, and we need to be diligent in ensuring that an individual’s access to vaccination does not become a barrier for people’s full participation in the life of our churches. - SOBER REALITIES: Unvaccinated people may choose to wear masks for their own safety and the safety of other non-vaccinated people. Please do not crowd each other as we adjust to this change. It is possible but very unlikely that a vaccinated person can get COVID.
