WE WOULD LIKE YOU TO KNOW …
Due to your careful love for your neighbor, the State of Illinois is relaxing COVID restrictions in response to lower numbers. Please pray for wisdom for our leaders and a calm response throughout to the gradual lifting of restrictions.
The Kinmundy Health & Safety Team and the Food & Fellowship Team met Friday, May 21, to consider what was safe to do. On Friday, May 14, 2021, Curtis Brown, Director of Connectional Ministries for the IGRC, issued an Update on Wearing Masks for the Illinois Great Rivers Conference to say:
The U.S. Centers for Disease Control has updated their safety guidance to state, “… fully vaccinated people no longer need to wear a mask or physically distance in any setting.” … This means that fully vaccinated people will not need to wear a face mask or physically distance in most of our churches during worship services, gatherings, and meetings, including while speaking and singing.”
The IGRC recommends that churches should avoid creating special events, gatherings, or worship experiences only available to those who are already fully vaccinated. Our ministries are meant for all, and we need to be diligent in ensuring that an individual’s access to vaccination does not become a barrier for people’s full participation in the life of our churches
Unvaccinated people may choose to wear masks for their own safety and the safety of other non-vaccinated people.
Additionally, some fully vaccinated people may wish to continue to wear masks out of an abundance of caution or in solidarity with children and other people who are not able to be vaccinated.
Please do not crowd each other as we adjust to this change.
THE KINMUNDY HEALTH & SAFETY TEAM and the Food & Fellowship Team are pleased to announce that:
KINMUNDY FOOD & FELLOWSHIP will return soon—after worship concludes. Please join us for a time of coffee and refreshments in the Fellowship Hall.
KINMUNDY SUNDAY SCHOOL for Adults and Children will return soon.
We will be planning a FELLOWSHIP MEAL for our church sometime in June.
“WELCOME BACK TO HAND N HAND” on Monday, May 24, at 6:00 pm. It will be outside with food, songs and story, and play on the playground. We are also considering planning a mini-golf and ice cream meet in June.
