Virginia Ann Green Funeral Service

KINMUNDY – Virginia Ann Green, 94, of East Peoria, Illinois and formerly of Kinmundy passed away at 3:52 PM, Saturday, January 23, 2021, at the Generations at Riverview Assisted Living, in East Peoria, Illinois.

Virginia was born on May 10, 1926, in Kinmundy the daughter of the late Cecil Chester and Olive Mary (Meyer) Keen. She graduated from the Kinmundy High School in 1944, and she married Burl Green on December 9, 1946, in Salem and they shared 69 years of marriage before he preceded her in death on August 21, 2016. She was a resident of Tuscola for over 60 years as well. She was a homemaker and owned and operated her ceramic shop in Tuscola for 15 years, and sold Fuller Brush for 2 years. They did some traveling and camped at Lake Olney for 21 years, and she enjoyed sewing, puzzle books and watching TV.

Virginia is survived by her 2 children; Sharon (Gary) Schenke, of Plano, Texas, Marsha (Rick) Burdette, of Peoria, Illinois, 3 grandchildren; Michelle (Tim) Glaser, of Roanoke, Texas, Jonathan (Stephanie) Schenke, of Midlothian, Texas, Philip (Amanda) Burdette, of Peoria, Illinois, and 1 great grandchild; Henry Burdette.

Mrs. Green was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband.

Private family services will be held at the McGriff & Triplett Funeral Home in Kinmundy, with Pastor David Kueker officiating, and burial will follow at the Evergreen Cemetery, Kinmundy.
