Eileen Garrett – Funeral Message – 05/05/2020

Eileen Garrett was laid to rest today at Sandy Branch Cemetery with a service at 1 pm, May 5, 2020.

Pastor David Kueker preached a message on John 14:1-6:

1 “Let not your hearts be troubled; believe in God, believe also in me. 2 In my Father’s house are many rooms; if it were not so, would I have told you that I go to prepare a place for you? 3 And when I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and will take you to myself, that where I am you may be also. 4 And you know the way where I am going.” 5 Thomas said to him, “Lord, we do not know where you are going; how can we know the way?” 6 Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father, but by me.

Funeral Message for Eileen Garrett 05 05 2020

Eileen’s obituary:

Eileen Garrett passed away on April 26, 2020 at the age of 92. She was born on April 19, 1928, in Galton, Illinois to Harry and Gladys Eagan. She was raised and lived most of her life in Kinmundy, Illinois. She married Charles W. “Bill” Garrett on December 4, 1947. Eileen assisted Bill on the family farm until they retired. She loved sewing, crocheting and painting as a hobby after retirement. She was an avid reader and loved tending to her flowerbeds. Eileen was a member of the Wesley Methodist Church. She was an amazing woman of faith with a very kind heart.

Eileen was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and daughter: Lori Denise Garrett, and siblings: Marceline Cross, Tiona Blair, John Eagan, Jim Eagan, Noah Eagan, Opal Zimmer and Ralph Eagan.

She is survived by her three daughters:
Marla Crouse of Centralia, Illinois,
Becky Short (Steve) of Georgetown, Texas, and
Glenda Hunter (Garry) of Salem, Illinois;
Grandchildren: Michelle Pittsley (Steven), Dan Crouse, Abby Ray (Randy), Garrett Hunter (Carri), April Hill (Bob) and Dane Hunter;
Great-grandchildren: Val Kendrick, Phoebe Garrett, Eleanor Crouse, Houston Ray, Celeste Ray, Carley Hunter, Brenna Hunter, Aden Hill and Silas Hill;

Brother-in-law and sister-in-law: Floyd and Helen Garrett; along with many nieces and nephews.

Private graveside services will be held at Sandy Branch Cemetery in Kinmundy. A memorial service will be planned and announced at a later date. Memorial contributions can be made to the Wesley Methodist Church or the Sandy Branch Cemetery and can be left at Crouse Funeral Home who is assisting the family with arrangements.
