Sermon 03/29/20: Coffee with God (Lent V) – (Bill Hybels)

WORSHIP AT HOME for 3/29/20. If illness or travel prevented you from joining us for worship Sunday, or if you would like to experience the worship again, you’re welcome to use the links below to have a time of worship at home. (Just right click on the link to play each hymn or the sermon in a new tab, and close that tab when finished.)

CALL TO WORSHIP: Psalm 33:18-22 (Read prayerfully.)
18 But the eyes of the LORD are on those who fear him, on those whose hope is in his unfailing love, 19 to deliver them from death and keep them alive in famine. 20 We wait in hope for the LORD; he is our help and our shield. 21 In him our hearts rejoice, for we trust in his holy name. 22 May your unfailing love be with us, LORD, even as we put our hope in you.

As you listen …. once or more than once … consider what you are thankful for. Make a list. Write each item down. Ask those who are with you to contribute to your list.

A TIME OF PRAYER (Testimonies, Joys & Concerns)
Please pray for yourself and your neighbors, lifting up your needs to God while giving thanks for answered prayer.

As you pray, give thanks out loud along with those who are with you … mention everything on your list. Add items and people as they occur to you.

The Lord’s Prayer: Our Father, who art in heaven; hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil, for thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen.

HYMN My Tribute sung by Andrae Crouch and the Disciples with Lyrics

We are unable at this time to worship together. I said last week that if we can’t worship with each other in the church building, we need to find time to have a meeting with God in our homes. Regular time. I don’t know of any talk which communicates this necessity as well as this. Pastor Dave

Guest Preacher: Bill Hybels … Coffee with God … Jan 27, 2013

HYMN This is my desire (with lyrics) / I give you my heart

BENEDICTION: And now may the grace of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, and the love of God the Father, and the presence of the Comforter, the Holy Spirit, be with us all, now and forevermore! Amen.
Now … don’t just stand there! DO SOMETHING.

If you worship at home, please let us know so we can pray for you!

One Response to Sermon 03/29/20: Coffee with God (Lent V) – (Bill Hybels)

  1. Gerri says:

Loved the sermon, showed once again how important it is to have a talk with the Lord each day in your special place. I love the prayer chair idea and have been using it for a long time as I open my door each day. As usual songs were wonderful, just wish you had been giving the sermon, Pastor Dave, but did enjoy this one.
